Notes: One old story has it that a Bowerman (bowman) was out hunting one day and his dogs disturbed a group of witches. They cursed him and turned him and his hounds into petrified stones. Certainly, the rocks around here take a variety of different shapes and it is easy to see why such a legend arose.
